Cher Lloyd – Dub on the Track

I’m not a big Cher Lloyd fan, I don’t like X Factor performers. In fact, I think that X Factor is killing music. But with guest appearances from heavy-weight UK rappers Dot Rotten, Ghetts and Mic Righteous up in this, Cher Lloyd is certainly trying her best to to put something on this track! It’s definitely worth a listen, but I’m still not sure the track wouldn’t have been better for not putting Cher on the track!

Chemo ft. Jareth – The Cause and the Cure

I stumbled on this Jareth track by accident while searching for the new Jehst and Chemo track “Lion In A Concrete Jungle“. Beatsmith Chemo is one of the founders of Speakers Corner, and the owner of Kilamanjaro Studios. With this and the Jehst track, his new album “The Stomach of the Mountain”, (a compilation of Chemo‘s finest work from 2007-2011), looks really interesting!

Also check out Jareth ft. Lioness’s “Pathways”.

Goldie Lookin’ Chain – Dubstep Christmas

I love these guys, I’ve been a big fan of GLC for 7 or 8 years, (I’ve even seen them perform at Glastonbury)! Skip forward 30 seconds to the chorus, because the lyrics to this one are basically crap, but when the bass kicks in… Bam! “I’m havin’ a Dubstep Christmas!” Boom! wobble-wobble-wobble…

Jump around your front room! This is basically my anthem for this Christmas… yeah!

Hereldeduke vs Peter Auty – Dubstep Snowman

With nearly 1.5 million views on YouTube, Howard Blake and Peter Auty’s yuletide classic gets a wobble-injected dubstep revamp. “We’re walking in the air… We’re floating in the moonlit sky… wobble-wobble-wobble”. Classic!

Ed Sheeran vs Devlin – SB.TV Freestyle

Pop fans will have all heard of Ed Sheeran, but probably not up-and-coming Dagenham rapper Devlin. Here’s Ed, freestylin’ with Devlin, Griminal & Yasmin in the street of Clapton, (apparently this is an exclusive preview for a tune they’re working on together).

  • About me

I fell in love with Hip Hop in the mid-80's, aged 10, when I first heard Grandmaster Flash, LL Cool J, Run–D.M.C, the Fat Boys, and later the Beastie Boys and Public Enemy.

My passion was renewed in the early 90's by N.W.A, Cypress Hill and Snoop Dogg, and again in the late 90's with Wu Tang and DMX, but I started getting disillusioned with US rap around the time of Eminem, Jay-Z and 50 Cent.

After a couple of years in the wilderness listening to Dub, Drum 'n' Bass, Trip Hop and Radiohead, I stumbled on Task Force, Skinnyman, Braintax and Jehst, and fell back in love with UK Hip Hop.

Currently my favourites include Skuff, Dirty Diggers, Rodney P, Kyza, Mystro, Skrein, Genesis Elijah and Jam Baxter.
